We create intimate, curated experiences where strangers become familiar faces through honest conversations and shared moments.
HEY STRANGER,
I believe that breaking bread with strangers has the power to turn unfamiliar faces into friendship. Our experiences aren’t just about dining— they’re about transforming isolation into community.
From heartfelt conversations on our podcast to intimate dinner parties and hanging outside with strangers during retreats and more, our goal is simple—to make every stranger feel seen while building a true sense of community, one seat at a time.
Founded by Shivawn at the height of the pandemic. After moving back to her hometown without her close-knit group of friends, she longed for community. What began as heartfelt conversations with women worldwide on our podcast soon grew into hosting Seated with Strangers dinner parties. Since then, we've traveled across the U.S., bringing people together and building connections one table at a time.
BE SEATED
-
Join us for intimate dinner parties designed to spark meaningful conversations. Each gathering is thoughtfully curated with our signature conversation cards, all while supporting local restaurants and small businesses. We also welcome local chefs to our table, giving guests a chance to explore their menus in a warm and inviting setting.
-
We’re all about sparking curiosity and embracing new experiences—alongside strangers. Whether it’s candle-making, pottery, or an adult field day, we’re creating opportunities to step outside, try something new, and make lasting memories within our community.
-
This experience is uniquely designed to address the specific needs of your organization, promoting healthy communication, preventing burnout, and establishing a supportive mental wellness culture. By removing the barriers that prevent employees from connecting on a personal level, it’s our aim to create a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported.
-
Travel with strangers to retreat while exploring new destinations while creating new memories. We create space for you to show up for yourself.

SWS DINNER PARTY IS SO HARD TO CAPTURE IN WORDS BECAUSE IT'S AN EXPERIENCE LIKE NO OTHER
It's a feeling. A feeling I can best describe as safe. & the conversations did not disappoint! The beauty of having built-in questions to ask at the table is it takes the pressure off to come up with something interesting to say to complete strangers (haha!). Also, the range of questions! From fun and light to serious and introspective, they really gave us a chance to know each other in a well-rounded way. All in all, I will say this is an experience I hope every person gets to have at some point in life.

LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I LOVE SEATED WITH STRANGERS! GENUINELY.
The episodes and the afterparties. Just such good convo and since I'm on the younger side, and I've never been someone too in the culture (growing up kids called me Oreo), these conversations help me learn a LOT and just gain more wholelistic perspective. Plus I'm more inclined to really learn and understand culture now- seriously, amazing job!

IT WAS A DINNER PARTY I DIDN’T KNOW I NEEDED. WITH SO MUCH GOING ON.
I rarely have time to myself and/or have the opportunity to have amazing conversations with open minded women. I learned a bit more about myself and the other ladies sitting across from me. I’m truly thankful for the opportunity for us to exchange perspectives. Thank you Shivawn for creating such a beautiful thoughtful experience.
